CELESTE DANCE

'Flower Fairy Musical' was created to use the arts as a way to teach appreciation and respect of nature.  

 
Amanda (Celeste Dance) is the choreographer/writer/musician of this musical. She has 17 years of experience in an array of genres. These are jazz, contemporary, hip/hop, ballet, lyrical, ceroc, pilates, yoga, salsa and zouk etc. The choreography is based on the theatre dance; is mixture of all dance, plus acting/mime.

 

She had done dance training in AJDA and NZAMD jazz up to Elementary level. She's attended many LA Danceforce weekend workshops.  And when they stopped visting NZ she packed up her son years later and went to Hollywood for some classes.  Of course visited Disney and Universal etc!  

 

During the journey she has belonged to BOP Dance Commitee. They organised Fresh Moves; a primary school dance event. She helped run regular school teachers dance workshops.  Plus did the dance 'Kokirikiri - Momentum' school teachers week long training at T.A.P.A.C (The Auckland Performing Arts Centre).

 

Other training she has done that is relevant is two papers, 'Creative Practices and Music in Action for Educational Purposes (teaching children singing/music).  She has a certificate in Adult Teaching plus has done the Incredible Years (teaching and parenting programme) to the Advanced level.

She has taught children and adults to dance at various times for the last 8 years. She has loads of experience and passion to share of her love of dance/music.  All of her creative pursuits and skills go under Celeste Enterprises.  Other strands are Celeste Literature; Remedies; Styling; Design etc.

 

CELESTE MUSIC

Amanda has written several CD's, numerous songs and been playing guitar 28 years. The music for the musical has been recorded and CD's are available. Plus she has her own CD Love, Light, Passion and Inspiration.

​

In recent times, she's had musical  performances on stage, in cafes, bars restaurants.  She's also been doing busking tours, partly for the pure delight of it!

​

She plays acoustic ballads; a little rock, jazz and great vocals. Its a mixture of originals and covers, though she can tailor it to suit your venue.  Music and songs, to inspire, soothe, give insights; with her echoing voice accompanied, by melodic tunes.  Rates are usually $100 p/hr min 2hrs, plus travel/acc, tho neg.

She has written several books and many articles on health/environmental subjects. The musical is based on a children's story she wrote. This was about children meeting fairies who take them on an adventure where they meet other native fairies. These fairies teach them to look after and appreciate the environment.

 

She has also been a freelance journalist for Healthy Options Magazine, Rainbow News and Lifestlyle Block (formally Growing today).  Amanda has been the author of two books; one of which is a recipe book, that has been published all over NZ and overseas.

 

She is a mother of a young adult son. She has also recently created a range of health, cosmetic and health products; blends and cremes, made from herbs and aromatherapy.

 

Living in beautiful Mount Maunganui, she enjoys ocean and nearby walks.  She is passionate about our beautiful country, was born in Hamilton and grew up in the Waikato then Whitianga, NZ.
